Gladys came to Rockville around the same time when Mavis moved in with Solomon.
She was also a young bride to her husband, Elias, who was a close friend of Mavis’ late husband Solomon. The two couples settled on the same street and would go out together socially. When Mavis and Solomon had children, their lives and focus changed - Mavis could no longer be seen in the social circles. Things were not so rosy for Gladys and Elias’ marriage as the year went by without children and Elias started blaming Gladys for not being able to give him children. In the end Elias kicked Gladys out of their home and filed for a divorce.
