The arrival of Nqubeko’s mother Doreen Majola, played by the great Amanda Quwe, was a game changer for the telenovela. Many thought Nqubeko’s mother passed away, but her grand entrance excited viewers and made them curious about what the relationship between her and MaMchunu, Mshengu’s wife, would be.
Doreen proved to have come with drama and feistiness; just a few episodes in and viewers have named her “the GOAT”. One thing’s for sure: she came for her son and to expose secrets. So, much to MaMchunu’s annoyance, the return of the baby momma has cause problems in the Mshengu household. MaMchunu blames Doreen for her sister’s death (Donga and Ndumiso’s mother), and Doreen blames Mshengu for keeping her away from Nqubeko.
The mothers are at each other’s throats, fighting for their sons’ justice. Doreen wants to prove Nqubeko didn’t kill Thuthuka and MaMchunu wants Nqubeko in jail for killing Thuthuka.
